BASIC 8 | |
BASIC 8 is a great 80-column color graphics operating system for the Commodore 128 computer, written by Lou Wallace and David Darus. It utilizes all of the best features of C128 ultra-hi-res graphics, including joystick and mouse input, printer drivers, the 1700 & 1750 REU, and the 64K video RAM of the 128D. This archive has several disks images; The original BASIC 8 Master Disk which can be used to create editor and runtime work disks, a BASIC 8 Demo disk that shows off the impressive capabilities, an application disk that includes the BasicCalc spreadsheet and BasicWrite wordprocessor, a prepared runtime and editor disk and lastly, a .D81 which includes everything from the .D64 images. BASIC 9.9
BASIC 9.9 for the Commodore 128 - Sorry, but I don't know much about this version of BASIC. It came from a Parsec, Inc. floppy disk I found in a collection I have. Apparently at one time there was a ROM of BASIC 9.1 created for the empty socket in the C128 which is mention on this thread ->> here <<-. Maybe they are related? |

Mystic Jim's GEOS Accessories: BASIC-8
Found this disk in a collection I aquired many moons ago. I thought I'd post it for anyone interested in the offical disk images from Mystic Jim's collection. Although the disk is labeled GEOS Accessories, the front side is the BASIC-8 applications called BasicCalc and BasicWrite. The back side appears to be a version of the demo disk that comes with the BASIC-8 language, but has additional pictures and oddly there is a scratched file at the end of the listing. As you can see from the pictures, the disk has no write notches, so I assume the oversight was a part of the distribution. |
