zip1 H.A.L. System

There were a lot of all-in-one "office suites" for the C64. Most of them fall short, and this one is no exception. The H.A.L. System does have a lot to offer, though. The calculator program (called "HALCULATOR", of course) is excellent and the calendar/memo program is Y2K compliant. Best of all, the programs are in BASIC and easily customizable.

Documentation is available on the disk.

zip2 HomePak by Batteries Included

HomePak by Russ Wetmore (distributed by Batteries Included) is a pleasant find.  The program consists of three applications - Hometext (word processor), Homefind (database) and Hometerm (terminal).  Suprisingly, the Hometext is actually a really nice word processor, especially for 1984.  I didn't really try out the other two programs past getting the screenshots, but I'm guessing they are of similar quality.  I'll add some extended descriptions taken from the packaging into the long description.

zip3 The Home Manager

The Home Manager by Melody Hall is a collection of three application programs for the Commodore 64.  The first program is a simple but straight forward word processor.  The second is a database of sorts, that can be used like index cards, and the third is a combination calculator and notepad that stays resident in memory while you're programming or running another program that doesn't stomp on the same memory area.  There are instructions for the programs on the disk which you can load into the word processor - press F2 to get to the load menu, and load the file called "instruct".

I want to thank Matt C. for sending over this program which he imaged using a parallel modded 1541 and nibtools, so in the archive are .g64, .nib and .d64 versions.  I created the .d64 from the .g64 and loaded all the programs, so I don't think there was any copy protection, but it's always nice to have a bit image.
