WOW 64 was created in 2013 by Will Cronin AKA The Wizard is a surround sound SID player for Windows.  Included in the archive is more information and a sample playlist with a dozen or so tunes.

Wraptor is a great utility for combining multiple files into a single archive for easy upload / download.  It is especially useful for working with GEOS files as most other archivers can't handle those types of files.

1997 J & F Publishing, Witten by Bill Lucier. Wraptor is a full disk archiver created especially for GEOS files. This is the last version of Wraptor written.

WRITE NOW! 64 (1983) by Computer:Applications Inc (Distributed by CARDCO, Inc.).  Described by the manual as follows:

WRITE NOW! was designed to provide you with an easy to use inexpensive word processor that provides the most desired features of an expensive word processor while being simple to learn and efficient to use. WRITE NOW! is written completely in machine language to eliminate the slowness found in some word processors. WRITE NOW! also uses screen oriented editing so it does not require the cumbersome editing modes required by other word processors.

As far as I know, the program was only officially distributed in cartridge form, but a group called ABA-Soft created a disk version.  This archive contains both a .CRT and .D64 if the program.  The .CRT version was pulled from a ROMset found here on archive.org, and the .D64 version was found here on csdb.dk. Wrong is Write v7.0 by Joe Buckley (AKA Red Storm) is a utility for converting files from other word processors to GEOS format of various types and allows you to switch documents from one GeoWrite format to another.  Another feature of Wrong is Write is changing fonts / styles in a document.  Last but no least, you can also convert a document to and from true ASCII or PET ASCII.  According to geoWorld Issue 21 (Page 15) this would allow you to convert a Postscript file to a GeoWrite file and back again.

WsDos v7.1 by Sid Davis, released early 2018.  Although the documentation describes this as a loader for C64 software using native C128 burst mode, it does so much more!  Below is a quote of the description and features from the docs:

WsDos is a program for the Commodore 128 PC. It provides a way to load and run C64-mode software using the C128's native burst mode protocol. This is done by loading a program while in 128-mode, then switching down to 64-mode where it is started.

 Installing itself into a seperate bank of memory, the program is protected from being overwritten while in 64 mode. It is also invisible to a suprising amount of C128 software as well. It even survives a CP/M session!

WTG Tribuner - Issue 30 (1992)

WXTerm or possibly Son of Quasimodem by Tom Brown is a very simple terminal program, but it supports Punter, Xmodem/RCR and Wxmodem transfer protocols.

X-CALIBUR is a 128 Mb expansion / acceleration RAM unit for the Amiga 4000 / 040.

Let us explain what we mean by that! It is a 128 Mb memory expansion because it allows you to add up to 128 Mb of fast RAM to your A4000 / 040 (not 030, sorry).

How can it accelerate at 25 MHz without changing the CPU at all? And not even your current memory?

Well first the X-CALIBUR uses 64 bits interleaved memory instead of regular 32 bits access, this is why we need to populate modules 2 at a time, in using two memory banks separated by half a clock we in fact cut the access
time in half, resulting in double speed memory. The second thing is that the A4000 motherboard does not allow memory bursting, but our board does, so we again double our memory speed; in total we then have quadruple our
memory speed at 25 MHz!!! And 5.4 times faster at 33MHz!!!

X-Copy is a two drive file / disk copier for the Commodore 64 and one or two 1541 disk drives.  Not only can you copy full disks, you can copy just the allocated data on a disk.  It also supports file copying and drive speed testing.  Nice little program.

Very simple terminal program with Xmodem transfers completely written in BASIC. Good place to start if you want an example of the xmodem protocol.

This is a neat little mini-bbs and terminal with xmodem support. On disk is both the source and blizted versions.

Released October 18th, 1984 - Appears to be an early terminal program that supported downloading with the Xmodem protocol. Has a few other neat features like a built-in seq file reader and some buffer control.

Released 10/26/1984 by Chris Kaiser. Basic 1200 baud terminal program with a BBS mode and quite good buffer controls.

1990-1993 by I.Horvath, crunched and released by Lexi/Fairlight. This looks like a really nice 80 column terminal with Y modem batch support among other things. Worth a look for sure.

X15 + Xfer v2.0 by Wild Ron has one of the strangest names I've seen for a file copier, but don't let that fool you, this is a really great program.  Not only is this a file copier, it handles both single and dual drive copying with a HUGE buffer for those using one drive.

1986 - Star Tech Software, released by Apex.

XC-BASIC is a dialect of the BASIC programming language for the Commodore-64 and xcbasic64 is a cross-compiler that compiles XC-BASIC source code to assembly source (in DASM format).

Some of the advantages of programming in XC-BASIC are:

• Cross development - use your favourite OS/editor/etc.
• Higher execution speed - no interpreter, the source can be compiled to pure machine code in two steps.
• More available memory - the program does not require the BASIC ROM to be present, which means the program code may span from $0801 to $CFFF - a total of 50K!

XC-BASIC is based on Tiny BASIC, with many differences in syntax.

Xtreme Mega Comeback by Camelot is a 256 byte demo released in August 2003.  Pretty neat bouncing comet with a trailing tail using just standard keyboard characters.

Xtreme Mega Comeback II by Camelot is another 256 byte demo released in August 2003.  This demo is bouncing raster bars with something hidden.

YACE64 is a Commodore 64 Emulator.  Other emulators just try to give a realistic visual and sound experience - YACE64 tries to transform the old technic of the 80's into a modern design and using state of the art technology like 3D, stereoscopie and virtual reality.  Also it tries to unmystify the internal operation of a C64 and 1541 with detailed traces, disamssembler and visual VIC debugger.

Yahtzee 128 for the Commodore 128 (80 Columns) is based on the original dice game and adapted to the C128 by John Teeple.

It's been quite a while but a much needed update of YAPE is finally ready. 2019's first release delivers some fixes, most notably:
