AmigaCOMAL is an implementation of the programming language COMAL80 for the Commodore Amiga computer. COMAL80 (COMAL for short) has become an old and well established language. The first versions were made in the early 1970’s. At that time programming (in BASIC) was being taught to primary school teachers at the Tender State Teacher’ College, Denmark.

Borge Christensen, at that time teacher at the college, realized that the students wrote poor programs and that the main reason was the language BASIC. BASIC was indeed easy to use and it offered the user much help during program writing but in BASIC you do not have the possibility to use long and descriptive variable names and you do not have the elegant program structures known from Pascal.

Borge Christensen talked to Benedict Lofstedt, teacher at the University of Aarhus, Denmark about the problems and they agreed that it should be possible to combine the best of BASIC and Pascal. The result was the programming language COMAL (COMmon Algorithmic Language).

Together with some students, Borge made the first implementation of the language in 1974. With the introduction of the micro computers in the late seventies more implementations were made. In 1979 the COMAL standard was defined (COMAL80 Kemal) by a number of computer manufactures and some educational institutions.

AmigaCOMAL contains some minor differences the COMAL80 kemal. The difi'erences are those introduced by UniComal in their implementations of COMAL80 on the IBM PC computer (now included in the Common COMAL standard).

Welcome to Volume Two of my complete low down of Amiga games. This covers the letter B, and there is a lot of games beginning with that letter!! But also what classic games there are, with some of my all time favourite games to be found here.

I am still having a blast putting together this, ridiculously ambitious project, to catalogue and play every Amiga game | can find. | realise of course, there are a number of online sites that have done this already, but I hope that by pooling all that knowledge in one place and making it easy to read on a Tablet or Kindle Fire will be useful to some people, who like me, like to have things to read offline at times.

The Arniga Technical Reference Series is the official guide to programming Commodore's Amiga computers. This volume, the Amiga ROM Kernel Reference Manual: Includes and Autodocs, contains alphabetically organized Autodoc function summaries and listings of the Arniga system include files.

Autodocs are descriptions of the Arniga's system functions. The include files list the Amiga's system definitions and data structures. This revised edition has been updated for Release 2 of the Arniga operating system.

Amiga TestKit v1.16 by Keir Fraser is an excellent tool for diagnossing issues with memory, keyboard, floppy drive, controller ports, audio, video, CIA Chipset, RTC and serial / parallel ports.  Highly recommended!   Comes with an ADF image and CLI utilities.

Amiga Test Kit 1.20 (Released July 18th, 2022) by Keir Fraser is an excellent tool for diagnossing issues with memory, keyboard, floppy drive, controller ports, audio, video, CIA Chipset, RTC and serial / parallel ports.  Highly recommended!   Comes with an ADF image and CLI utilities.

This program was perfect for diagnosing a sound issue in my Amiga 4000.  I highly recommend this excellent utility!

Amiga Test Kit 1.21 (Released November 11th, 2023) by Keir Fraser is an excellent tool for diagnossing issues with memory, keyboard, floppy drive, controller ports, audio, video, CIA Chipset, RTC and serial / parallel ports.  Highly recommended!   This version does not include the CLI utilities, please see version 1.20 if you need those.

A simple-to-use symptomatic guide for diagnosing faulty IC components on Amiga computers (Including A500/A1500/A2000/A2500).

This manual describes the various AmigaDOS, and its commands. The Command Line Interpreter (CLI) reads AmigaDOS commands typed into a CLI window and translates them into actions performed by the computer. In this sense, the CLI is similar to more "traditional" computer interfaces: you type in commands and the interface displays text in return.

Because the Workbench interface is sufficient and friendly for most users the Workbench diskettes are shipped with the CLI interface "disabled". To use the commands in this manual you must "enable" the CLI interface. This puts a new icon, labeled "cli" on your Workbench. When you have selected and opened this icon, a CLI window becomes available, and you can use it to issue text commands directly to AmigaDOS.

Attached is a set of errata pages for your AmigaOOS User's Manual. Instructions are provided in the errata to indicate how the manual pages should be modified.

Written by Will Corley, Anal 1541 is a character frequency analyzer.  You pick a file on a disk and it will scan through it and tell you how often a particular character occurs in the file.

This is a multi-function hacker that is Hayes/1670 Compatible.

Released in 1989 by Dane Martin. Programming by Thrasher. Animation by Espionage & Thrasher. This terminal supports a special animation mode that requires the BBS your calling to support also, otherwise it reverts to normal C/G mode.

By Michael Beutling - Released in 1991. This appears to be a test vesion of an 80 column ANSI capable terminal program with possible REU support. There's a doc file on the disk but it's in German.

Released in 1995 by Seven Up, Anti-Isepic is a program that you can use to remove the Isepic logo from programs that were cracked with the Isepic cartride by Starpoint Software.

Append BASIC 128 is a utility for the Commodore 128 that lets you append some source code from one file to the end of another.

September 1987 by Steve Parker. Apple Res will convert an Apple Hi-Res graphics image to Doodle or bitmap (Compatible with Flexidraw or Print Shop Screen Magic). Read the docs on the disk so you aren't alarmed by the garbled display when first run.

Before you start operating your BBS, read this manual. Familiarize yourself with the functions on the Sysop Menu, and understand how the files are set up. If you experience any error messages refer to the Trouble Shooting Section for help. For the most part this Bulletin Board System is easy to run. However, there are some areas that will be better clarified by reading the manual. Before you call the 24-hour hotline numbers check the manual to see if the answer to a particular problem can be found there.

ARB BBS v.595.0 by Arthur Brock (1987) - Not the newest version of ARB BBS, but it looks to be a complete release.

ARB BBS v7.60 by Arthur Brock (1988) - I've never run ARB before, but I know at least one of our visitors is a huge fan of this BBS software for the Commodore 64.  ARB supports the 1764 RAM expander and the 1581 floppy drive, so it must have been one of the most up-to-date BBSes for it's time.

From what I understand, there is a bit newer version 7.62 which I'd like to locate if anyone can help out.

Released by Ampere Metal - ARC is one of the best archiving / compression utilities ever made for the C64. There are tons of options and a lot of power w/RAM disk support. The down side is this is a command line only utility so it does require some learning. Docs and RAM disk driver are on the disk.

Arc Aid v6.0 by Dan Levine is a menu driven interface for creating .ARC compressed files using Arc 2.30 on a Commodore 64 with one or two disk drives.  Also included is the Arc to SDA utility by Mark Rhodes (November 1987) that will turn a compressed archive into a self disolving file when run.

Written by Randall Jay Williams and released on September 10th, 1996. ARCSCAN will examine the ARC header for the specified file, drive, and drive unit (device) number. It will compare valid ranges and then report on whether or not the .ARC file is a Commodore ARChive file or another type of archive file - the actual type will not be reported.

Written by Dan Levine and Fixed by Paul Secinaro. ARC/SDA Aid is a menu driven interface for the ARC compression / archiving program. Arc v 2.30 and full docs are included on the disk.

Released September 1988 and Written by B. Mark Rhodes. ARC-SDA is a utility to convert a .ARC compressed archive into a self dissolving archive.

ARC to SDA v3.6 by Mark Rhodes with special thanks to Chris Smeets - If you know what an .ARC file is, then you know what this program is for.  If you don't know, then move along, you don't need this.

Arc to SDA v4.5 by Mark Rhodes (November 1987) - This handy utility will convert a collection of files compressed with Arc into a self-dissolving file.  The program goes much farther than converting .arc to .sda, it can also analyze the block allocation map for all the files on the disk.  The coolest feature I was never aware of is called "whittle".  Using whittle, you won't run into a situation where you give someone with a single disk drive a file so big it can't be uncompressed because there isn't room for both the compressed file and it's contents on a single floppy. Included in the archive is documentation describing many of the other features.

Note - there is a newer version of this program available here (v5.1).

(c)1986 by Elnicorp. I believe this is the very first version of the excellent ARC archiving / compression utility for the C64. I recommend using version 2.50.4 which I think is the last version released, but I'm including this version for historical reasons. Docs are included on the disk.

Arc64 is a small tool to deal with D64, T64, LNX and ZipCode archives.

It can be used to edit D64 images, run D64 images in the WinVice emulator, run
PRG files via CodeNet, convert T64, LNX, PRG, ZipCode and other formats to D64.

A key feature is the drag & drop support. If you drop a D64 image, it will be
opened instead of the currently opened D64 image. If you drop any kind of other
file, Arc64 will try to add it to the D64 image. Formats like T64, LNX and P00
will automatically extracted into the D64 image as PRGs.

Found this really nice documentation for the Commodore 64 archiving program called Arc64, which I believe the newest version of is 2.50.4 which this happens to be for.
