“Crazy” by Steve Judd is a 3D ray casting demonstration program for the Commodore 64. Crazy requires a SuperCPU with 16M SuperRAM. To use the program, load “crazy” and run. The program will then load libraries, tables, and textures, and once everything is running a joystick in port 2 is used to navigate the 3D world. I have not tried it in an emulator but assume it will work fine. All code was developed using Slang/Sirius on a C128D with SuperCPU. Crazy uses the Manta ray casting library, which allows anyone to develop 3D texture mapped games and demos on the Commodore 64. Manta will be released separately in the not too distant future, along with source code and a writeup of the algorithms. ** More information can be found on this Lemon64 forum post. |
