StarDOS is a parallel fast-loading DOS enhancement for the Commodore 64 + 1541, consisting of a replacement KERNAL ROM, a drive ROM, and a parallel cable. It gives you much faster disk operations, DOS wedge commands, and extra drive features, putting it in the same family as SpeedDOS and DolphinDOS.
