Pitstop by Epyx on the Commodore 64 is a top-down Formula 1–style racer where the twist isn’t just driving fast, it’s managing your car. You scream around a series of looping tracks from an overhead view, weaving through traffic while your tires wear down and fuel gauge drops—push too hard and you’ll blow a tire or crawl to a halt. Between laps you can dive into the pits and directly control your crew, positioning them to refuel and change individual tires as quickly as possible before rejoining the race. With single races, multi-race championships, and hot-seat multiplayer, it plays like an early blend of arcade racing and light strategy built around its signature, hands-on pit-stop sequences.
