Express Raider on the Commodore 64 is a Wild West action game where you play a train robber pulling a series of hold-ups on speeding steam trains, mixing brawling and shooting segments. Some stages put you on top of the train fighting guards hand-to-hand, ducking thrown bottles and trackside signs while trying to reach the locomotive before time runs out; others shift to a shooting gallery–style sequence, often on horseback alongside the train, where you gun down riflemen popping up in carriage windows while avoiding hitting innocent women who occasionally appear with bonus money bags. The C64 port keeps the arcade original’s role-reversal premise—you’re the outlaw, not the sheriff—and compresses it into a short but challenging loop of alternating beat-’em-up and shoot-’em-up levels.
