Druid on the Commodore 64 is a top-down, Gauntlet-inspired action dungeon crawl where you play Hasrinaxx, the last of the great druids, on a quest to destroy four demon princes lurking in the depths of the evil lich Acamantor’s dungeons. You roam scrolling outdoor and underground levels swarming with ghosts, insects, witches, and other creatures, blasting them with limited supplies of three elemental attacks—water, fire, and electricity—each more or less effective against different foes, plus the powerful Chaos spell that can wipe the screen (and is the only way to kill the demon princes). Along the way you can summon a golem as a computer- or second-player-controlled ally and even turn invisible for brief escapes, giving the game a strategic layer on top of the arcade action and helping it stand out as more than just a simple Gauntlet clone.
