Predator on the Commodore 64 is a side-scrolling jungle action game based on the 1987 film, putting you in the boots of Major “Dutch” Schaefer as you trek through hostile South American terrain. You run, jump, crouch, and shoot your way across parallax-scrolling jungle levels packed with guerrilla soldiers, collecting limited-ammo weapons from the bodies of fallen comrades while keeping an eye out for signs of the alien hunter—its targeting reticle occasionally appears on screen and must be dodged rather than fought. The game is split into several sections, with early stages focused on firefights against human enemies and later ones shifting toward close-quarters confrontation and simple puzzle elements as you finally face the Predator itself, making it a fairly tough, atmospheric movie tie-in with a mix of gunplay and cat-and-mouse tension.
