Amnesia Ma Amnesia Manual

Amnesia on the Commodore 64 is a large-scale, all-text interactive fiction game written by novelist Thomas M. Disch in which you wake up in a midtown Manhattan hotel room with no clothes, no money, and no memory—only to discover someone is trying to kill you and you’re wanted for murder in Texas. From that starting point you wander a surprisingly detailed simulation of New York City (thousands of intersections and locations south of 110th Street), riding the subway, visiting shops that open and close on real-world schedules, and struggling to survive day to day by finding food, money, and shelter while piecing together your true identity and the events that framed you. The game plays more like an interactive novel than a traditional puzzlefest, emphasizing routine, time management, and gritty urban survival as much as classic adventure-game problem solving.
