Alien Syndrome on the Commodore 64 is an overhead run-and-gun arcade conversion where one or two players control Ricky and/or Mary, soldiers sent into alien-infested space bases to rescue captured comrades before a time bomb detonates. You roam eight-way scrolling maze-like decks, blasting through slimy, toxic aliens while searching for hostages scattered around the level; once you’ve freed the required number, an exit opens that leads to a separate arena-style fight against a huge “super alien” boss. Power-ups such as stronger weapons and temporary maps of the current stage help you survive, but strict time limits, swarming enemies, and tight corridors keep the pressure high, making the C64 port a tense, if somewhat chunky, take on Sega’s cult arcade shooter.
