221B Baker St. Ma 221B Baker St. Manual

221B Baker Street on the Commodore 64 is a computerized adaptation of the Sherlock Holmes board game where up to four players take the roles of Holmes, Watson, Irene Adler, or Inspector Lestrade and race to solve Victorian-era mysteries across London. You pick one of 30 cases from the manual, then move around a map of 15 locations—like the Docks, the Bank, or Scotland Yard—by rolling dice, entering places to secretly read text clues that may be helpful, irrelevant, or deliberately misleading. Players can visit Scotland Yard to gain a badge that lets them “lock” a location to slow down opponents, adding a bit of tactical blocking to the clue-hunting. Once you think you’ve cracked the case, you hurry back to 221B Baker Street and answer a short quiz about culprit, motive, and other details; if you’re right, you win, and if not, you’re out, making it a competitive deduction game with light board-game-style movement and a lot of reading.
