Kracker Jax on the Commodore 64 isn’t a single program so much as a whole line of commercial “pro” disk-copy and hacking utilities sold under the Kracker Jax Protection Busters label. Across its various disks—like the original Kracker Jax sets, Elite volumes, Hacker’s Utility Kit, Bull’s Eye, and later successors such as Renegade and Maverick—it provided fast file/track copiers, low-level GCR nibblers, sector and GCR editors, density and error scanners, and large libraries of game-specific parameter files to back up many copy-protected titles.
