The Maverick v3 utility on the Commodore 64 is an early version of Maverick, a powerful commercial disk copy and repair toolkit designed to back up both standard and copy-protected 1541 disks. Distributed under the Kracker Jax label, it bundles fast file/track copiers, low-level GCR “nibbler” routines for tough protections, sector and GCR editors, and parameter-based patchers that remove or bypass protection checks on many commercial titles, plus extras like disk compare and GEOS support.
