Shallow Domains on the Commodore 64 is a modern, turn-based hex-map strategy game set in 2172, where a rogue malware has turned next-gen machines against humanity and you command a dwindling human army to destroy the enemy’s command banner. Played against a competent AI on large hexagonal battlefields, it gives you up to 32 squads drawn from ten unit types, each with different movement, weapons, and stats, plus experience bonuses for squads that survive multiple fights. Six terrain types, fog of war, a minimap, and light RNG in combat make positioning and recon important as you push across 15 handcrafted maps, all wrapped in a slick C64 presentation with joystick/keyboard controls and in-game background and battle music.
