Congo Bongo on the Commodore 64 is an isometric arcade platformer where you play a safari hunter chasing a mischievous ape across four short but tricky stages, each viewed from a pseudo-3D, diagonally tilted perspective. In the first level you climb cliffs and narrow ledges while dodging rolling coconuts and charging monkeys; later screens have you hopping across hippos and lily pads on a river, weaving through rhinos on a savannah, and navigating collapsing platforms to reach the top and knock the ape off his perch. There’s no fighting—just careful timing, precise movement on the isometric angles, and learning enemy patterns—making it feel like a jungle-flavored cousin to Donkey Kong with a focus on spatial awareness and quick reflexes.
