On the Commodore 64, Risk: The Computer Edition of the World Conquest Game is a straight adaptation of the classic Parker Brothers board game where 2–6 players (any number of them computer-controlled) battle for global domination on a map divided into 42 territories across six continents. You place and reinforce armies, attack neighboring territories using dice-based combat, and trade in card sets for extra troops, all following the original rules with options for different victory conditions. The computer handles setup, dice rolls, and bookkeeping while you focus on long-term strategy—building continents, managing borders, and negotiating temporary “don’t hit me yet” truces with human opponents gathered around the C64.
